Hunger Relief
Nourishing Young Minds
Access to education begins with something simple yet essential—a nutritious meal.
Through our partnership with ACT Foundation Sri Lanka, Selfless ACT supports school meal programs for children in underserved communities, where many students come to school without adequate nutrition. Over 90% of these students come from families without a stable or regular income. Many children arrive at school without having had breakfast, making it difficult for them to concentrate, participate, and fully benefit from their education. For these children, a daily meal is not just nourishment—it is the foundation for learning, growth, and well-being.
By providing a consistent, nutritious lunch through local schools, this initiative ensures that children receive the nourishment they need in a safe and supportive environment. For many, this meal becomes their most reliable source of daily nutrition.
The impact extends beyond hunger. Schools have observed improved attendance, as well as greater student engagement in both classroom learning and extracurricular activities. With their basic needs met, children are more focused, active, and confident in their learning journey.
By supporting this program, we are not only addressing immediate nutritional needs—we are creating an environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
Educational Support
Empowering Futures Through Education
Education is a powerful pathway to a better future—but for many students, financial hardship creates barriers beyond tuition.
In Sri Lanka, while university education is free, students often struggle to meet the costs of accommodation, meals, and essential study materials. Without this support, continuing education can become extremely difficult.
To address this, Selfless ACT, in collaboration with ACT Foundation Sri Lanka, provides targeted scholarships to deserving students in need. These scholarships offer a monthly stipend to cover basic living and education-related expenses, enabling students to focus on their studies without financial stress.
By easing the financial burden, this initiative allows students to stay committed to their education, pursue their ambitions, and build a foundation for long-term stability.
Through this support, we are not only investing in individual futures—we are contributing to stronger families, more resilient communities, and lasting social impact.

Healthcare Support
Restoring Sight. Renewing Independence.
Access to essential healthcare can change everything—especially for those living in underserved regions.
Through our partnership with ACT Foundation Sri Lanka, Selfless ACT supported cataract surgeries for underprivileged patients from the Vanni region of Sri Lanka. Many of these individuals had been living with severely impaired vision, limiting their ability to work, care for themselves, and support their families.
Patients were carefully identified and coordinated locally, then safely transported from Kilinochchi to Jaffna Teaching Hospital, where the surgeries were performed by an experienced ophthalmology team. Throughout the process, they were provided with meals, care, and support to ensure their comfort and safety.
Following successful treatment, patients returned home with restored vision—regaining not just their sight, but their independence, confidence, and ability to participate fully in daily life.
This initiative reflects a complete cycle of care—from identification and transport to treatment and recovery—ensuring that those in need receive not just medical attention, but dignity and support at every step.
Building on the success of this initiative, we look forward to expanding our efforts to reach many more individuals in need of essential eye care. With the continued support of our donors and community, we aim to deliver more life-changing interventions—restoring sight, improving quality of life, and bringing hope to underserved communities.
